Self-aligning ball bearings are double row, self-retaining ball bearings. They comprise outer rings with a concave raceway and corresponding inner rings.
The bearings are available in an open design and with rubber contact seals (2 RS).
Self-aligning ball bearings can support axial forces in both directions in addition to radial forces.
Under normal operating conditions and with a rotating inner ring, these bearings can swivel approx. 4 degrees from their central position, while sealed bearings can swivel approx. 1,5 degrees. With a rotating outer ring, the angular adjustment facility is smaller.
